What we test

Free/Total Testosterone + SHBG

Testosterone is crucial for muscle strength, endurance, and overall athletic performance. Free testosterone is the most active form, while SHBG regulates how much is available for muscle growth and recovery. Monitoring these levels helps athletes optimize muscle mass and training capacity.

Oestradiol

Oestradiol, a form of oestrogen, plays an important role in maintaining bone density, joint health, and muscle recovery, especially in athletes. Balancing oestradiol levels is key for both male and female athletes, as imbalances can affect performance, injury risk, and recovery times.

Liver Function

The liver processes nutrients and removes toxins, which is critical for athletes’ recovery and energy metabolism. Proper liver function ensures that athletes can metabolize proteins and fats efficiently for energy production and muscle repair after intense workouts.

Kidney Function

Healthy kidneys are vital for maintaining fluid and electrolyte balance, which directly impacts hydration and stamina. Athletes put significant stress on their kidneys during strenuous activity, making it essential to monitor kidney function to ensure proper recovery and performance maintenance.

Magnesium

Magnesium is essential for energy production, muscle contraction, and recovery. Low magnesium can lead to muscle cramps, fatigue, and poor recovery, making it important for athletes to monitor their levels to maintain peak physical performance and reduce the risk of injury.

Lipid Studies with HDL

Lipid studies assess cardiovascular health by measuring cholesterol and triglyceride levels. High HDL cholesterol supports heart health and endurance, allowing athletes to maintain peak stamina and reduce the risk of cardiovascular stress during prolonged exercise.

Glucose

Glucose levels provide insight into how efficiently your body uses energy. Stable glucose is crucial for maintaining endurance during long training sessions and aiding recovery afterward, helping athletes avoid energy crashes that can hinder performance.

C-Reactive Protein (CRP)

CRP is an inflammation marker. Elevated levels may indicate muscle stress or injury from intense training. Monitoring CRP helps athletes manage their recovery process, optimize training loads, and reduce the risk of overtraining-related injuries.

Full Blood Count (FBC)

An FBC measures key components of your blood, including red blood cells, which are vital for oxygen delivery to muscles during exercise. Monitoring your FBC ensures your body has the capacity to maintain endurance and recover efficiently, while also tracking immune health during periods of intense training.

FSH, LH & Prolactin

FSH and LH regulate testosterone production, influencing muscle growth and athletic performance. Prolactin, meanwhile, affects recovery and hormone balance. Monitoring these hormones helps athletes maintain optimal hormone levels, avoid overtraining, and enhance recovery after intense physical activity.
