Women’s Fatigue Check

$279.00

This package assesses key factors that may contribute to fatigue in women, including thyroid function, blood sugar regulation, and essential vitamins and minerals. By evaluating these markers, it helps identify potential causes of low energy, such as anaemia, hormonal imbalances, or nutrient deficiencies.

What we test

Thyroid Function Tests (TSH, FT3, FT4)

Thyroid hormones are essential for regulating metabolism and energy levels. If the thyroid is underactive (hypothyroidism), it can slow down bodily functions, leading to fatigue, weight gain, and cold intolerance. Measuring TSH, FT3, and FT4 levels helps identify thyroid imbalances, which are common causes of persistent tiredness in women.

Fasting glucose

Blood sugar levels play a critical role in how your body produces and uses energy. High or low fasting glucose levels can indicate conditions like insulin resistance or diabetes, both of which affect how efficiently your body converts food into energy. Poor glucose regulation often results in fluctuating energy levels and chronic fatigue.

Full Blood Count

A full blood count checks the levels of various blood components, including red blood cells, which carry oxygen throughout the body. Anaemia, particularly in women, can occur due to low red blood cell counts or low haemoglobin, resulting in fatigue, weakness, and shortness of breath. This test helps diagnose conditions related to low energy.

Iron studies

Iron is critical for producing haemoglobin, the protein in red blood cells that transports oxygen. Low iron levels, or iron-deficiency anaemia, can lead to feelings of extreme fatigue, dizziness, and reduced physical endurance. This test evaluates iron levels, storage, and how well your body is using iron, providing insight into one of the most common causes of fatigue in women.

Vitamin B12

Vitamin B12 is necessary for energy production and the formation of red blood cells. A deficiency in B12 can lead to fatigue, weakness, and even neurological symptoms such as numbness or memory problems. Since women, particularly vegetarians, can be at risk for low B12, this test helps identify if fatigue is linked to a lack of this important vitamin.

Folate

Folate, also known as vitamin B9, is crucial for cell division and the production of red blood cells. A deficiency can lead to anaemia, which is a common cause of fatigue in women. Testing folate levels helps detect whether low levels are contributing to tiredness and low energy, especially during pregnancy or periods of rapid growth.

Vitamin D

Vitamin D plays a role in muscle function and overall energy levels. A deficiency can cause unexplained fatigue, muscle weakness, and bone pain. Many women experience low vitamin D levels due to limited sun exposure, and testing can reveal whether supplementation is needed to restore energy levels and improve overall well-being.
